Mike Croker

Our February meeting was held at Putnoe Heights Church again, which was lovely to be with our friends again with the added bonus of a demonstration by a favourite local artist Mike Crocker.

He took us through his process to complete an oil landscape from photo. He expalined the colours he chose and the brushes he used were synthetic. First, he drew out the various areas of the scene before he centred in to the more detailed points to be painted. Using a variety of techniques, the foreground and the background took their rightul places on the canvas and the finished painting was a great success, showing a sunny field of young sunflowers, giving a feeling of summer to come!
